My Spirit Horse

Daar is so baie mense wat perde verloor het hierdie jaar met perdesiekte. Dis so hartseer. Rosie het dit ook gekry, maar dankie tog, sy het oorleef. lyk my daar was maar min perde wat oorleef het as hulle dit gekry het. Hier is 'n gediggie in GHS se nuusbrief:

My Spirit Horse

On the day that my horse died
I sat in his stable and cried and cried
At last I realized his spirit was gone --
My once beautiful horse had passed on.

I sat that night looking up at the sky,
Eyes sore and puffy, trying not to cry.
Tired and confuswed, I closed my eyes
Tormented by a thousand "why's."

Then in the darkness I heard a sound
That made me sit up and look around.
The sound of hoof-beats in the soft moonlight
As my beautiful horse came into sight!

I gave him a hug as he nudged my hand
I felt he was asking me to understand...
That although he'd died and was gone
Happy in heaven -- his spirit lives on.

he snorted softly, (no sad goodbyes),
Then disappeared, as I rubbed my eyes.
"You're tired", someone said,
"You'll feel better, once you're in bed."

Was it a dream sent by your spirit?
Or was it you who came to visit?
One thing for certain is that I'm glad
Of the wonderful memories that we had.

My beautiful horse - I'll miss you so
But no longer question why you had to go,
For whatever the reason -- I had no say,
And I know I'll see you, again one day.
